Two channels. Your kind of zoom.

The next round of improvements is ready to try in TestFlight.

  • Duo Cast. In laptop mode, choose a channel for each half. Compatible web videos can play together, with sound following the panel you tap. Fullscreen stays in its half; controls fade away and pinch adjusts fit or fill.
  • Book-pose browsing. Fold into book pose to toggle a two-pane view. Plop remembers your last split for the next time.
  • Zoom without interruption. A 50–300% slider stays open while you adjust. Use − and + for steps, or tap the percentage to reset. Plop remembers your choice per website.
  • Keep your place where it belongs. Fresh visits start at the top. Restored tabs resume their place, and links opened in split view stay in their pane.
  • A calmer beta. More stable website controls near the camera, improved tent-mode Play, and a fix for paid customers being asked to unlock TestFlight again.

Duo Cast depends on compatible web players and your device. A streaming-service shortcut or desktop mode does not guarantee playback. These additions are in TestFlight, beyond the App Store 1.1 release.

Small fixes. Easier updates.

A little polish for everyday browsing on the Mac.

  • Stay up to date. Automatic notices let you know when a newer Mac release is available. You choose when to download and install.
  • Copy what you need. Right-click an image to copy the image itself or its link.
  • More comfortable browsing. Page zoom controls and smoother sidebar opening and closing.

Older Mac builds need one manual update to receive future update notices.

Plop comes to your Mac.

The first public Mac beta arrives, signed and notarized, for Apple silicon and Intel.

  • Room to work. Up to three pages side by side, movable split panels, a resizable sidebar and an optional horizontal tab bar.
  • A familiar kind of personal. Cover Flow, named tabs, custom themes, profile avatars and optional iCloud sync.
  • Easy to get. A dedicated Mac download page and a shareable download link.

Your profiles, everywhere.

One optional iCloud switch, with a little more of your workspace along for the ride.

  • Sync what makes it yours. Normal profile names and avatars, saved themes, supported preferences and each profile’s saved pages join cloud sync. Private tabs, cookies and passwords stay out of it.
  • Extensions, made clearer. The mobile extension picker gets readable native cards and hides known incompatible picks by default. Each package is checked before you approve access.
  • Help within reach. A quick Nightfall control, a short gesture welcome, and Help & feedback linked to @plopbrowser.

A view for every tab.

Cover Flow and the theme studio make the jump to touch.

  • Flip or scan. Switch directly between Cover Flow and Grid, with Private beside them. Regular-tab previews can stay across launches without loading every page in the background.
  • Make a little color. Custom colors, gradients, random palettes with undo, and named themes you can share by link or file.
  • An iPad of its own. A new start workspace, an adaptive layout, a centered browser dock and keyboard navigation.

The desktop finds its shape.

A day of small details that make Plop feel at home on a Mac.

  • Tabs that make sense. Smarter address search, renamable tabs with short automatic names, website icons, hover previews and keyboard navigation.
  • Favorites within reach. The first nine saved bookmarks become a 3 × 3 speed dial. Tab menus add bookmark and collection actions, and dragging a link reveals Pocket.
  • One continuous surface. The sidebar and toolbar share the same gradient. Themed settings and menus, saved themes, a dice button and profile icons bring the interface together.
  • More ways to work. A full-window tab gallery becomes Cover Flow; split panels can be rearranged without replacing their pages. Clean-link copying removes known tracking clutter.

Fewer steps. More flow.

The controls get smaller, clearer and easier to reach.

  • One simple tray. Double-tap noninteractive page content or tap with two fingers to reveal the same controls. Edit the address in place; keep the keyboard tucked away until you need it.
  • Bring your favorites. An optional welcome introduces the gestures and bookmark import. Saved brings bookmarks and Pocket collections together.
  • Keep browsing comfortably. Touch back/forward gestures, better page recovery, clearer appearance choices and less work in inactive tabs.
App StoreiPhone & iPad · 1.0

Hello, App Store.

Plop’s first public iPhone and iPad release goes live.

  • The whole screen for the web. Gesture-revealed controls, normal and private tabs, bookmarks, history, sharing and downloads.
  • A little more personal. Themes, Reader, profiles, Stumble and adaptive Play grew through the first beta builds.
  • Better around the edges. iPad touch controls, camera-aware website buttons and a correction to login-field focus.

Read. Play. Find something new.

The quiet browser starts finding its personality.

  • Separate your worlds. Personal, Work and custom profiles keep their tabs, website sessions and themes apart.
  • Set a page in motion. Early tent-mode Play turns article content into cards, then expands to more kinds of pages.
  • Follow your curiosity. Stumble discovery gains save, share and rating controls, with a compact camera-centered control on Duo.

The first Plop lands.

Our first signed iPhone beta reaches TestFlight, and the desktop preview begins.

  • The essentials. Browsing and search, private tabs, bookmarks, history, find in page and downloads. Normal tabs restore between sessions.
  • A name and a mark. Plop gets its soft lowercase p, five adaptive themes and the first public website.
  • Made to read. Two-finger address entry, turn-to-read on the Duo cover display, and adjustable Reader text arrive in the early beta updates.
The beginningFirst design & prototype

A little more room.

We started with a simple idea: let the website have the screen.

  • The first direction. A quiet interface, controls that appear when you need them, and a layout that adapts as the available space changes.
  • The guiding idea. Less browser in the way. More room to read, explore and make the space your own.
