A little help
Find your way.
A few answers for making yourself at home in Plop.
Where did the controls go? Tap the page with two fingers. The controls appear; choose Done to return to the page. You can also turn on a small control handle in Settings.
How do I open Settings?
On a new tab, tap the sliders button near the bottom. While browsing, reveal the controls with two fingers, open the more-actions menu, and choose Settings.
Can I change the theme?
In Settings, choose Paper, Dune, Ocean, Rose, or Midnight. The Appearance setting lets you follow your device or choose Light or Dark. Themes color Plop’s interface; websites control their own page colors.
A website looks wrong or won’t load.
Try reloading. If the site needs a blocked resource, reveal the controls and switch off “Block ads on this site” in the more-actions menu. You can also change “Block ads here” under This Website in Settings.
If controls sit too close to a camera or screen edge, turn on Safe layout for that website. If you clear website data, you may need to sign in again.
Why do I still see some ads?
Plop uses a small bundled set of rules for selected advertising and analytics hosts. It does not remove every ad, first-party promotion, or ad inserted directly into a video. The blocker can be disabled globally or for a particular website.
How do private tabs work?
Open the tab list and choose Private. Private tabs use separate temporary website storage and are excluded from Plop’s saved history and session restoration. Close all private tabs to end that session.
Private browsing does not hide your activity from websites or your network. Files you save remain in Files, and information you share remains with the receiving app.
Where are my downloads?
When a download is ready to export, the system Files picker asks where to save it. Look in the location you chose. If you cancel the picker, Plop does not export that file to your chosen location.
Can Plop be my default browser?
Default-browser approval is pending for this beta. The Default browser settings button opens the iOS settings page, but Plop may not appear as an available choice yet. This page will be updated when support is approved and included in a released build.
Can links stay in Plop?
Turn on “Keep links in Plop” in Settings to keep web links in the browser and stop automatic app handoffs. This setting does not turn another app’s custom link into a website. A link that only opens another app may require switching this setting off first. Plop asks before opening a permitted external action, including phone or email links.
Can I use VoiceOver or a keyboard?
VoiceOver and Switch Control expose a labeled control handle. Keyboard shortcuts include Command-L for the address, Command-T for a new tab, Command-W to close a tab, Command-R to reload, Command-K to show controls, and Escape to dismiss them.
Which devices does Plop support?
The app targets iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 27.0 or later. Its immersive layout adapts as the available display size changes. Duo-specific layouts around the fold and camera use iOS 27.1 features. System indicators and screen occlusions remain controlled by iOS.
Still need a hand?
Send the device model, iOS version, Plop version, and a short description of what happened. For display issues, include whether the device was folded, open, or rotated. A screenshot can help—please remove personal content and private addresses first.
